ABOUT ME

About ME

 HI, I'M ALESSIA (SHE/HER).

Yoga is for me a tool to connect to myself and also a state of being truly connected with myself. It gives me clarity on what I do and don’t need instead of what I should be needing in this moment.

I have always been curious and happy to do all kinds of sports so it was clear to me that I will need to try one of the physical kinds of yoga (from the lineage of hatha yoga). So, I ended up trying different teachers of vinyasa yoga. It took me a while to find the right teacher but also to let my guards down to do my own spiritual work. I understood that body and mind could not be separated (which I subconsciously did in the past) and began to focus on and understanding my mind. I explored how I could handle myself with greater care and learn to self-regulate, and had this eye-opening moment of feeling tuned-in. In the physical yoga styles, we practice with our body to access the mind and see how we react under different kinds of stressors. When practice, we aim for equanimity in body, mind and emotions which means we practice strength and flexibility on all three levels.

Ever since I’ve graduated as a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200) of the Yoga Alliance in June 2020 I have been teaching lessons, and educating myself to continue evolving as a yoga teacher to feel more confident, precise, and professional in the yoga room. To me, yoga is for EVERYBODY (in the sense of everyone and all bodies). I am curious to learn how to work with all kinds of personalities, bodies, and conditions. This, and my never- ending thirst for knowledge will keep me going on this path. In 2023 I have finished a 300-hours Advanced Teacher Training with Jason Crandell to be an even better and upgraded (RYT 500) yoga teacher. 😊

I teach to adults in English and Swiss-German

  • Vinyasa yoga (including influences of power yoga) for beginners and advanced practitioners
  • Restorative yoga
  • Breathing techniques
  • Meditation

My classes have a clear structure with a specific focus. I aim for a physical practice that address the imbalances we tend to have due to our modern everyday lives. Regarding yoga philosophy, I infuse my classes with the cultivation of awareness as well as deeper philosophical topics. As both are equally valuable, I can adjust it to your needs.
